How to check a car by VIN in Poland
Before buying a used car in Poland, always check its history by VIN — it protects you from rolled-back mileage, hidden accidents and even stolen cars. Here are the tools that work.
historiapojazdu.gov.pl — free
A state service (built on the CEPiK register). It freely shows the history of a car registered in Poland: mileage from inspections, owner data, technical details, damage notes. You need the VIN, the plate number and the date of first registration.
autoDNA / carVertical — paid, but for imports
If the car is fresh from abroad (Germany, etc.), it isn't in the Polish register yet. Then paid services (autoDNA, carVertical) help: international history, auction photos, mileage records, accident data.
What to check
- mileage — whether it's been rolled back;
- accidents/damage, whether it's a flood car;
- number of owners;
- whether it's reported stolen;
- any encumbrances (pledge, leasing).
